Hearst Netherlands and PXR join forces

Hearst Netherlands and PXR are entering into a partnership. Starting from October 1, PXR will publish four sport and lifestyle magazines from Hearst under license in the Netherlands. The titles included in this agreement are the popular brands Men's Health, Women's Health, Bicycling, and Runner's World. With this strategic collaboration, PXR strengthens its growing portfolio in the sports and lifestyle market.

Strategic addition to PXR’s portfolio

The four titles, each a market leader within its own segment, fit perfectly into PXR’s existing portfolio, which covers sports, lifestyle, technology, and automotive. This partnership further solidifies PXR’s position as a leading publisher in the sport and lifestyle world. With this step, PXR offers its readers even more high-quality content on topics such as health, fitness, cycling, and running.

Ernst Keyzer, CEO of PXR, on the collaboration: “The addition of these strong brands to our portfolio offers tremendous opportunities. Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Bicycling, and Runner’s World are all renowned titles that align perfectly with our mission to build genuine relationships with (sports) fans and communities. We look forward to elevating these brands both in print and online and continuing to inspire our readers.”

“PXR is a best-in-class publisher in the Netherlands, and we are delighted to welcome them into our global network of 48 license partners in 47 countries,” adds Joe Martin, VP Media Licensing at Hearst Magazines International.

Marscha Krouwel, CEO of Hearst Netherlands, says: “We are excited to collaborate with PXR and welcome them as our licensing partner. PXR’s expertise in the (online) publishing of sports and lifestyle titles aligns seamlessly with our brands. This partnership will allow us to further strengthen the power of our iconic brands Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Bicycling, and Runner’s World, and to better meet the needs of the Dutch market.”

The partnership will officially begin on October 1, 2024, and the transition of publishing activities from Hearst to PXR will take place in phases. Starting in October, PXR will begin publishing the print editions of the various titles. In the following months, the online activities will be gradually transferred to ensure the quality and continuity of the magazines for both readers and advertisers. Both parties are confident in this new phase of collaboration and aim to further develop and expand the sports and lifestyle community in the Netherlands.|
